I'm thinking of expanding the current configuration of my PC. Currently I have a MSI GTX460 1GB SLI and would like a montarme a second card. The question I have is if my current processor (Q9450 at 2.66 GHz) could be a bottleneck for this configuration.

Indeed, Q9450 at 3.2 Ghz with no problems. To make the SLI, I have to change the motherboard (mine does not support it). I have to do a new query in the forum of motherboards.
What I mean is if you play, the GPU load up to 99% and maintained if the game needs that burden, so you know you have a bottleneck or not, if you never go up to 99% but are not limited fps is because the cpu no longer works.
A "single" GTX460 for 1080 is perfect, and also if you have to change the motherboard do not see profitable. If anything would happen to the possibility of 1155, I think I would be more worthwhile.
Sell your GTX 460 and GTX 480 Pillate one, but first I would try your card when you have your new monitor. I do not ride a SLI in anything but at least 1156. Before and after change of platform already, are you planning to do SLI or not.
