    Default C2D E8400 overclocked

    Dear all.

I was reading various reviews on the E8400 and I saw that it was a processor with a high potential. Wish I could get the 4GHZ easily obtained with the factory cooler. I once overclocked when my PC was an Athlon 64 4000 + 939 but no longer do much. At this moment I have an E6600 and want to go to tender to buy the pc e8400 today. But I would like to ask whether it is worthwhile to switch to e8400.

I will post my PC to see if I miss a hand to go well, I think I have enough pieces to reach.

    Processor
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Now
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 If it's worth what tomorrow would

    Motherboard
Asus P5N32-E SLI NVIDIA 680 Chipset

    Memories
Corsair Dominator 2x2GB PC2-8500 C5 with Fan Kit

    Video
    EVGA 8800GT 512MB Super clocked

If need more information and post as soon as this PCs should walk.

Thank you very much at all.

You know the oc, the Intel is easier than in the amd overclock, you only have to worry about the reports, the frequency, voltages etc, because the fsb (ht equivalent in AMD) is a Fixed 4x multiplier.

Simply start up from a low frequency of the CPU, reviewing the reports was not stress, and stability testing in Windows or another program like orthos. If you do not want to sacrifice performance voltages start to rise until the temperature is not a problem.

But think of hardware that I can get good results? Note difference between an E6600 and an E8400 to play?

That's what I care to go faster PC. If you overclock the E6600 to get something similar to what I can achieve with the E8400?

Sorry if there are many questions but I wanted to make a good decision.

    Thank you very much!

With Hard you can achieve great results; maybe it would be necessary to improve ventilation.

The E6600 can be overclocked to more than the E8400's performance depends on you'd rather save that money is spent on a CPU or better.

But the E8400 has 2MB of memory cache, a bus 1333 and 45nm therefore heated less consumes less energy. The E6600 is a known potential to overclock?

    Thank you.

Core2Duo Everything has an excellent potential oc, the "known" as the decisive factor is rather take it with water or a very good ventilation or high values, and with an oc from bios with stock voltage and climbing, surpassing a e8400 .

At night when I return home I will post some pictures to see the Cabinet and the fans.
The cooler that has is a shark, if you put him in google can see it immediately in the first result. Just let me know if this or if a spending better. My idea is not to squeeze but if you make the process a considerable amount of MHZ.

In your opinion, the E6600 is better than the E8400?

With that over, I thought you were with that comes with the cpu, I slept a little today, you first day of classes.

With an OC, the 6600 is better than 8400, will have to try to reach 3200 or 3400MHz.

That same fear, I saw that the multiplier process is x9

The memos and fsb is 1066 and that both are at that speed.

Where do you think would be good to start?

    Hi

Up a bit PCI-E at 115 for example, reports latencies relax and begin to see sub fsb you can reach a stable configuration without any further than that.

The configuration of the memory in the Bios I have it on Auto except the bus and the speed of the memos. Put them in manually, but you know how to speed and all that?

I get and find the model of my memos, and seven by hand?

Look at the CPU at the SPD tells you how to configure the line speed. Is the latency, better performance at a lower value but less oc, reduced performance and higher value but higher oc. The highest values, and reports a lower level, so I am sure that there is room for oc to spare.

The memories are what provide the least performance pc, its usefulness is its ability, in tom's hardware 667MHz showed that about 10% cheaper are just slower than some 1600 MHz DDR3.

While looking well after the oc latencies, the frequency of reports is the least important, and overclock the CPU always sum than that which is lost in memories.

I leave the voltage at 2.1 V as stated in the last level (533 1066DDR) frequency at 400 and some relatively high latency, such as 6-6-6-18, and then if the oc is stable, those looking for lower latencies. The OC I can not see me here or msn least, is a question of trying to fence you how you doing.
