The German based chip manufacturing company AMD announced their latest quad-core processor with 3.2GHz Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition. Specially designed for gamers and computing enthusiasts, the 3.2GHz Phenom II X4 955 BE will compete with the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550. AMD boasts that their X4 955 BE is capable of running up to 7GHz under huge cooling conditions.

The product manager Mr. Brent Barry said he was able to double the speed of the CPU during tests but further added that Liquid Helium was great enough to cool the system below -240 degree Celsius than Liquid Nitrogen, which manages to cool down till -140 degree Celsius. When the system is overclocked up to more than twice the frequency offered one can overclock the Phenom II x4 955 BE to 3.8 GHz very safely with the help of usual fan cooling method. So the CPU can be even overclocked to about 6.7 GHz.
