I just lately buyed an HIS 4850 512mb Turbo ICEQ4 video card as well as I believe I can get a pretty hard OC from 685/1100 to 750/1100 by rising the GPU Vcore. I can get it up to 730/1100 very steady as well as with no heat problem (maxed at 52c Furmark) but any more as well as the card is unbalanced. What I'm thinking is that if I boost the GPU Vcore from 1.12 to 1.175 I could get a pretty steady overclock out of this card. I just can't seem to discover something that will let me boost the voltage. Noticeably they tried to make it newbie-proof.
I looked pretty thoroughly through Rivatuner as well as didn't discover something about voltage.
I tried a custom BIOS flash by downloading the HIS BIOS update as well as modding it but all that did was make an unbalanced video card (it showed me my core clock was 125 MHz as well as my memory clock was like 9 million MHz).
I don't have a working floppy drive; I haven't used it in years anyways.
My motherboard BIOS doesn't even state a video card besides which video to make use of (Onboard or PCIe). Seems like I've heard that ATI Tool will let you get into the GPU Vcore but I cant even get it to run on Windows 7.
I'm out of thoughts. I assume I don't actually need to overclock any more than I already have but I'll take any advice given here.
Thanks
