Default Ddr2 1066 wont go over 830 mhz

Hi i just oc`d my pc everything works fine.I have an e8500 @ 3.94 GHz 1.35v but i can’t get my memory ratios right, im atm on 415 fsb CPU; dram ratio 1:1 @ 800 MHz. So they are on 830 MHz the rams are transcend ddr2-1066+dual channel but i cant change the ratio to anything that works i have the timings on 55515, i have put the ram to 2.0v cause on the ram case that they came in says works @ 1066 on that voltage. My mobo supports that speeds but i cant get it right,pc just doesn’t go trough post when i change ratios.

Does someone have a clue what i can do?

On Intel boards, the memory runs on the FSB. There is no direct link to the memory via hyper transport like AMD or the i7's have. So, changing to 1066 over 800 won't really do a thing for you. No matter what you raise the memory speed to; it still has to communicate with the rest of the system over the FSB.

You could try lowering the timings to 6, or even 7 and might work. But running at 800 MHz with tight timings is better than 1066 with lose timings.

My advice, leave it right where it is.

Same thing with me, best to just stick at 1:1 with your 830. I have the same CPU and same spec RAM, I'm running 439FSB, so DDR2-878. I did find with mine though, I could get away with 5-4-4-12 timings.
