It’s a better CPU in comparison to faster versions with more cores and more cache as it runs at 1.6 GHz on 800 MHz FSB. The biggest benefit of this CPU on the low end Core 2 Duo is that it has a higher multiplier and a low FSB. This enables more space in the FSB arena, as this is often restricted by the motherboard. When overclocked the E2140, it was restricted by the FSB, but not before reaching 400 MHz. 100% overclock with this CPU was not possible, but overall it wasn’t too bad.

Appearing even these chips were restricted by the FSB as well. This chip wouldn't pass the 3.1 GHz even if the RAM or other voltage controls. It’s not too good for the chip. Let’s see how it does against the E2140 at stock speeds with only a single core.
