Certainly we would not send you off without at least a discussion about overclocking of these platinum sticks. We compared benchmarks not only at a stock speed of 200MHz but also 233MHz which is pretty good increase in memory speed, equaling that of current PC3700. Although we could not obtain 3200 Platinum to run at any kind of aggressive timing settings, it still did run at a good speed when timings were relaxed a bit. And as most of benchmarks here show, we see more of a performance increase by the numbers from raw MHz than we do with aggressive timings. The OCZ would run fairly stable at speeds in excess of 233MHz relaxed but we wanted to raise voltage to 2.8v and still some programs were particular about running, like 3DMark and PCmark.

Running at 233 MHz I was quite impressed with OCZ PC 3200 Platinum EL DDR. Not only did memory run accurately as it was rated, but it ran well above their rated specifications and let us pull off some decent numbers while benchmarking.
