    Overclocking processor

What happens if overclock processor. In fact I want to know answer in simple words of basic concepts. By overclocking processor are we increasing frequency, and in which way power and frequency linked. Give me some suggestions on this.

    1) Electricity is used when CPU pulses. More pulsing of CPU means use of more electricity. If you raise voltage more heat will be produced for every pulse. The raise in frequency provides quicker performance. For obtaining higher frequency you must increase voltage. That will affect state change time of transistors. Higher the voltage amount quicker will be state change.

    2) Think that CPU as analog water wheel. Now think spinning of wheel as frequency, and flow of water as voltage. Now if you want wheel to spin quicker than to raise amount of water flow. So that the wheel can do the more work or can generate more power. Now if you supply more water than the capacity of the wheel than it will not do the more work but will be dangerous and can possible damage the wheel. So you have to maintain the balance between the two.

    3) I think electricity is not pulsing, states of switches. Generally electricity flow through circuits and it is utilized to alter state of transistor. Now if we think Voltage and frequencies are not linked to each other. Rising voltage means raising power draw in all electronic circuits and rising frequency also does same. Voltage and frequency are self-sufficient variable in such cases. As voltage is linked to frequency for deciding what real world maintainable frequency is.
