Thread: Over on 9800gt

I wanted a safe margin pros clocks my 9800gt, but something that pays. Do not attempt to win it 3fps for example. All other factors are favorable (temps, font, etc..)

I use the EVGA Precision pra monitor temps only, it is Specified pra over?

1) Overclocking is trial and error. The old method of doing OC video card is the following: Increase the GPU clock in increments of 5MHz and a 3dmark run. When you see white dots on the screen you achieve the limit. Decrease the clock at 1MHz increment to achieve the absolute maximum. Increase the memory clock in increments of 5-10MHz leaving the GPU in stock. When you see object on the screen you reached the limit. Decrease the clock at 1MHz increment to achieve the absolute maximum.

Let the GPU and memory with the maximum absolute and run 3dmark. Look for white spots and objects. If stable decrease in the 2MHz clock in the GPU / memo to avoid fluctuations. Always monitor the temperature of the GPU and the lines of its source in all tests. Is time consuming but you can be sure that the overclock is 100%. You can use the stress test of current programs but do not know to what extent they are dependable. I choose the old method.
