Thread: VT Intel Core 2 Duo E8400

I was attempting to install Red Hat Linux 64bit in VMware workstation 7.0, but I could not because my Intel Processor E7400 doesn’t support Virtualization Technology. Thus I changed processor with Intel Core 2 DUO E8400 3.0GHZ 6m, which I have read about it in Intel’s website says it supports Virtualization Technology, but problem happens so I download tool from Intel to check CPU supports Virtualization Technology or not and It says that new processor doesn’t support it? Can anyone have idea about how to solve this problem?

I think the problem is in your Bios. You require updating it. Processor has VT-x, but Bios is not identifying it. So no software will identify it until Bios identifies it.
