Default E8400 overclock @4GHz Is it worth it

I have upgraded GFX card from 4870 to 5850, I observed anyone’s counsel, to shove E8400 CPU up to 4GHz. but to achieve this I had to shove vcore up from 1.306v, to 1.35v. Few stair ups in voltage increments to attain further 150MHz on clock. Also, benchmarks I using representative that I not receiving particularly extremely unbelievable presentation improvements for putting these extra volts through CPU. Please could somebody clarify to me why it is helpful to have E8400 organization at 4GHz more say 3.85GHz or even 3.6GHz? similar to I say, I determined in past that 4GHz wasn't value it but somebody on here said that because I was receiving 5850, that I should shove CPU to 4GHz.?

You will not notice much of distinction from 3.8GHz to 4.0 GHz but will notice it in standards is all. I would shove that CPU as high as you can; I denote what is tip of doing few things half and later say I could do this. Successively level out @ 4.2GHz 1.45 Vcore.

My E8500 is operation at 4.11GHz 24/7 and is cruelly fast. Now that might not be that lot earlier than 3.8GHz. Cautiously, mine is E0 stepping that over clocks similar to simply. If you have to nail yours to wall to accomplish this presentation, then it's most likely not worth it. I even got it up to 4.8GHz when new, to observe how far I could go. However, my air cooling wasn't enough to remain temperature in check and it was hitting 80C+ even with the fan at full blast. It's very steady, however. With proper water cooling, this thing could do 5GHz.

If I can get E8500 to 4.11GHz 24/7 simply, I think can do equal or better without too effort. It all do 4.2, 4.3 or so without too much heat, but it's not quite steady after awhile and I can't be worried to use hours fine-tuning parameters to alleviate it for tiny increase.
