Thread: help overclocking?

I need some help when ever I try to use Rivatuner or ATI tools it says that my clock is boosted but there is no change in the game... In fact it runs slower. I can't get nTune to even work on this laptop... Please helpany new overclocking programs or tips on what im doing wrong please add them.statsWinXP4gig RAM (32bit so really its 3)NVIDIA 7400250gig hd1.73 duo proccessers

Do you have a stock cpu cooling fan? Trying looking at getting a better one the cools cpu's better, it helps with overclocking

Riva Tuner and ATITool will help you overclock your video card, but make sure the setting are saved next time you restart your computer (in RivaTuner, check box use these setting once computer starts up)If you didn't visit any forums online, please, uninstall/remove your Ntune (do not use it for overclocking at least if you don't want to uninstall it). It will screw with your computer settings (ex. if your motherboard is nvidia chipped, it will boot you into BSOD once you try to adjust your network settings, etc.).Download CoreTemp for monitoring your processor speed (use RivaTuner to monitor/log your video card temps and other settings) and use 3dmark06 benchmark after every boost to see if it gives you a better score.Also, you will need to give system some more juice by upping your voltage. Use your manufacturer's website for recommended voltage.Good luck.
