Thread: Need of overclocking

In my HP Pavilion dv4-1400 laptop I installed XP SP2. I want to know it is right to overclocking for laptop also? If yes then how does it work and what are the requirements for overclocking? Can anybody tell me what steps I should follow to overclocking my system?

Overclocking id mainly doing for running CPU at quicker speed to better performance. usually it is done on desktops and not laptops as laptops require dedicated GPU.

Overclocking is not compulsory for laptop only because of heat problem that is general after overclocking. It voids manufacturer's warranty if you are enjoying any of those.
