Intel today introduced two new processors for P55/H55 which will delight many users in their free time having fun with over clocking. The reason is obvious: while until now anyone who wanted to have a Intel extreme processor must inevitably pay the canonical figure of $ 999 for single CPU configurations and use only enthusiast can now have the makings of a Intel extreme CPU at a price much more reasonable and focused on the much less expensive platform P55/H55.

By Intel, this move has the express aim to undermine that slice of sales that AMD can do with its Black Edition CPU, sold at a price significantly lower of $ 999 canons The latest in home AMD, the Phenom II X6 1090T you can find it at prices between 250 and 300 €.

But let's figure out what distinguishes these new Intel CPU from the rest of the current proposal. The new processors are nothing new in that they are role models that already exist in the market, but who should be given the opportunity to keep the multiplier unlocked Core and memory. In this case, then the multiplier can be increased by the user, without limits that are not strictly due to the physical silicon / cooling / voltage.

To recognize the new cpu just look at the name the new proposals are distinguished by the number 5 instead of 0 in the figures that distinguish the model, and the letter K at the end.
