    Default AMD Athlon 2 x 3 440 Overclocking

Hey anybody assuredly bought Athlon II x3 440. It has apart to a Phenom ii x4 b40. But can addition either point to a adviser or explain about overclocking. I am new to overclocking. I may demand to overclock a amateur core. Because unlocking to the Phenom II x4 doesn't assume abiding at the moment. VID is set to 1.4v. But in HWMonitor its wattage is active at 137. Is this safe? I don't absolutely demand to up the voltage too much. Its temperature is at 34 degrees Idle. Whilst my amateur amount abandoned at 17 degrees.

If is is not abiding it could able-bodied be that your added apart amount was disabled because it is bad. It ability additionally aloof be that the amount leaks power, in which case you will get a bigger overclock after it. If you can selectively attenuate that amount and accumulate the dent unlocked, you get to accumulate the 6MB of L3 accumulation which I anticipate for best bodies is added use than a 4th core.

The temps are from the BIOS too. My old Athlon 64 x2 5600+ was about 55 degrees. I accept back afflicted the heatsink and fan to a Zalman CNPS 5X, which had acceptable testing after-effects at cooling. And as my Athlon II isn't aerial end the HSF is absolutely good. I upped the voltage to 1.47, and the northbridge voltage I added by 0.50v. Can't get it accomplished 3.4ghz, although Prime95 hasn't begin any problems I accept begin problems aural ARMA II. Graphical problems and additionally actual slow. 3.4Ghz is slower than 3.0Ghz? But I accept added the voltage

I have got a brace of guides bookmarked at home, I will try and bethink to articulation them back I escape from work. I will additionally column my settings (voltages/multipliers/clocks etc). I have been appealing advantageous to get my X3 to 4.0, but the multiplier on castigation is 15 rather than my 16 so if by luck my exact settings assignment for you again you'll be at 3.75 GHz.

Once apart it *is* aerial end. You accept a Phenom II x3 there, and with an overclock+overvolt it will demand 125W easy. Hence on my wife's PC I alone alarm her PC to 2.8GHz. I accept had 3.0GHz bedrock solid, but do not demand added calefaction in a baby case.

I approved attractive up your motherboard but couldn't acquisition it. Are you *sure* that it is rated at 125W or 140W cpu? If it is rated at 95W as best microATX boards are, again that may be the problem.
