windows xp can only support 3 gigs of ram (without a special tweak) and you don't really need more than 2.
I'm running an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ cpu with a 256 mb bfg video card and a Sound Blaster Audigy sound card. All but the ram, graphics, and sound card are stock, it uses dual channel memory which is why I need 4 sticks of the same size/kind. Also I will be doing no overclocking or anything of the sort. Nor will I be playing any games, I'm just overly impaitient. I need to know if the benefits will be worth the couple hundred dollars it will cost me?(a couple hundred dollars is a big deal to me due to the fact that I'm disabled and on a fixed income)

4 x 512 = 2Gb good.4 x 1Gb = 4GB -- 512 more than Windows can address but better. Windows (32-bit) XP can only see 3.5GB of RAM.The only other benefit might be in faster RAM.
