Growingly, it looks that parts producers are testing to extend clients the entire line of computer components, from graphics processing unit to storage to cases. The new expansion in this direction is through graphics processing unit-maker PowerColor, who is branching out into the energy-supply market.
Having construct its reputation around creating ATI graphics-boards, the company has just established 2 lines of power supply units - the Extreme Series and the Gaming Series.
The Extreme power-supplies arrive in 1,000W and 850W editions and together characteristic 80 PLUS Bronze certification, meaning that they are over 85% efficient at half-load. The plan utilizes 4 12V rails capable of outputting up to 20A every, which should assist to spread the load from high-draw parts. They too characteristic modular cables to assist to maintain the chassis clear and a less-rpm 140mm PWM fan.
Together units are certified for utilize with either CrossFire or SLI and the 850W example has 4 eight-pin PCIe power-links for fuelling multiple high-end graphics processing units. The 1,000W editions steps it up a notch with 6 eight-pin connectors to drive the most strong graphics-boards available.
For the more conventional client, the Gaming Series arrives in 500W and 600W flavors. Being hoped at the mid-level market, these examples characteristic somewhat more pedestrian specifications - 80% efficiency, 2 12V rails, two eight-pin PCIe links, a non-modular plan and a smaller, 120mm fan. However, the power-supplies will even be created of the similar high-quality, long-capacity part and are both certified as being ready for SLI- or CrossFire-enabled systems.
PowerColor has not freed any further information now, but the Extreme Series and Gaming Series power supply units should be in build soon.
