Ricoh's Gelsprinter technology is intended to create speeds similar through laser printers, but with the colour range of inkjets. The gel ink is in fact still liquid, but stickier than in a usual inkjet printer, as you may buy from HP.

HP is a good name to mention here, as it's the major opponent for Ricoh in this office inkjet market. An all-in-one for example the OfficeJet Pro 8500, offers several of the similar features, with high-powered ink cartridges as well as fast print speeds.

The Aficio GX3000S is styled more like an office laser printer, with a large footprint and a tall profile. It's hard to see why it's quite so tall, given that its A4 flatbed scanner has no Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) along with that it has a lot less large mechanism than most lasers.

There is a 250-sheet paper tray at the bottom of each page of the machines and a 180-degree turn in the final printing and support, which slides from the tray above. The tray can be used as additional options to increase the functionality of the machine, but it is a disgrace, there is no multi-purpose tray, even a single introduction, as a standard configuration.

The only link is a USB interface behind, but the machine can be extended once again, an increase of an optional Ethernet adapter. The only consumables are the four high-capacity ink tanks, which slides behind the right side of the carton cover. Rated in black ink in 1500, each of three colors, more than 1000 pages. Ricoh claims GX3000S composite machine can print 29 per minute, but we can see that almost one-third of this in our tests. The fastest speed, we can from the machine, 10.2ppm, is our 20-page text file, and the five colors of text and graphics employment dropped to 7.7ppm.
