Need help in choosing a color laser printer. BUT! In order to print from DOS. Focused on models of HP Color L J 1600 and HP Color L J CP1215. More tending to the 2nd model because a new and relatively expensive. Maybe who faced such a problem?

Print likely to be any available port LUT, but the Russian layout to print in text mode (encoding sr866) likely will not be. They generally think is not doing, but perhaps it is the manufacturer's website or elsewhere.
As an alternative - windows 98 and the DOS Print . Then the printer prints in graphic mode, and the program intercepts LUT port and prints the text of any font.
Another alternative - a Unix + dosemu + cups + postscript filter. But this is difficult.
I do not doubt that the above methods can be done.
Try is this way: Share the printer, through the net use to designate the port LPT1 or LPT2, and it is possible and 3 previous printer.
I know that this method works when you print from DOS on the monochrome laser printers do not have LPT or connector is not connected (used on HP L J 2300 and HP L J P3005n). But HP DeskJet 3940 fails. The document in turn raise, but there is an error. I would like to try on the HP Color L J 1600 and HP Color L J CP1215 (preferably the 2nd).
L J 2300 and LJ3005 support PCL. A Color L J 1600 and Color L J CP1215, and DeskJet 3940 - no. Theoretically, color LaserJet 2605 can earn money this way. And what do not like the option to Dosprn?
