The first laser printer was developed by HP in 1984. Many users opt for laser printers because of their capability to process high quality prints quickly and at economical costs. Laser printers consist of a photographic drum which attracts electrically charged toner and transfers it to the paper. The image is then fused using a heated roller. Many users use the monochrome printer since they print high quality text and simple graphics. Color laser printers are also used in businesses to print brochures, spreadsheets, manuals etc.
