By the end of the year 2009 we took a glance at Samsung's ML-1915 mono laser printer, and thanks to its well-mannered print quality with the sheer value for the cost as it measured a suggested award. At present Samsung has promoted the SCX-4600; which is comparatively reasonable priced laser printer, but now it is also included by a scanner module.

Along with several Samsung laser printers, the casing is offered in all-black, with soft curved edges with a compact design. A small group of keys is joined by a two-line, monochrome LCD screen. And the screen is being enclosed flat on the top of the cabinet and, as it can't be tilted, can be difficult to read; and there’s no backlit for the keys, you are not able to operate in dark room.

As well as the input tray is being positioned on the very base of the printer and it is capable to accumulate not more than 250 sheets at a time, whereas the output tray can manage with 80 printed sheets. One more manual single-sheet input tray is being provided on the front side, which lets for tasks for example printing envelopes.

One more feature included in the printer was that an ID Copy functions for the scanner. Accessed by using devoted key on the printer, this allows you scan both sides of an ID card (or else similar document) as well as include them printed side-by-side on a individual sheet of paper.

The printer speed which was being tested was almost 22ppm, and our tests showed this to be spot-on. Obviously, in fact print job times will be slower than this figure as the time to obtain the first page out requirement to be taken into account. Thankfully, this doesn't put in a huge amount on to the total print time, and with the printer in standby we found it took an average of eight-and-a-half seconds to turn out the first page out. Start it up from cold, even though, and this boost to approximately 45 seconds.
