Truetype and Open type fonts are designed to display correctly on the screen and in print. If a document contains other types of fonts, substitute Truetype or Opentype fonts for them. It is also possible for fonts to become corrupted. Check them in Windows XP by clicking Start, then Control Panel. Select Appearance and themes, followed by the Fonts link in the left-hand panel. To display any of the listed fonts, double-click it. To print any font, open the File menu and select print.
If a font has become corrupted, use the Delete option on the File menu to remove it, and the Install New Font option to reinstate it - you'll need the disc or program it came with originally.
