Epson Stylus TX210 makes a great impression on the first look. The black body with a glossy finish on the top, the colour LCD screen with a bright backlight, the strong buttons onboard, facility to insert memory cards, sturdy trays make this MFD score full marks in the aesthetics department. It does not have a network port. The printer is quite good in the Normal and Fine modes, but if gives very poor quality prints in the Economy mode. Printing an A4 size photo print in the Fine mode on a glossy paper took 3 mins 30 sec. so it takes a Jot of time to give quality prints. Thus it cannot be used in places which require fast colour prints, as the quality is severly compromised as was revealed in our tests.

Scanning documents is a cakewalk. The Epson Scan application comes in the software CD. As the resolution increases, the time to scan the page increases. It took 40 secs at 300dpi and 5 mins 58 secs at 720dpi for a full A4 size photograph with excellent quality. The Epson Scan is a very user friendly software and gives varying amount of flexibility to the user depending on the mode selected. Printing via the SD card slot also makes life easier. No need to transfer images on the computer.
