In my HP Pavilion dv4-1400 laptop I installed XP SP2 and also I connect printer to my laptop. I want to remove printer driver permanently. Because I continue getting message that it is in use, even though they are not there. Kindly help me on how to get rid of this problem.

To delete driver from computer follow these simple steps:
• From Printers and Faxes or Printers folder, click File and then Server Properties.
• Open Drivers tab and select driver to be uninstalled, and click Remove.
• OPTIONAL: Remove UPD registry entry at HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software
\Hewlett \Packard\HP Print Settings to clean out the cached UPD registry settings.
• OPTIONAL: Delete driver files from \3 directory.
