Have you ever meet before the problem of having multiple papers loading in your HP LaserJet 5L and 6L? This problem occurs because of faulty separation pad where its rubber has worn out.

Firstly, remove the rubber pad from the holder. Be cautious while you're removing because you might tear the rubber into pieces.

Secondly, clean the holder to stop any dirt or glue sticking on it. After that, apply a small amount of super glue that is just enough to cover the full surface of the rubber pad.

Lastly, reversed the rubber pad and stick it back to the holder. Please make sure that the surface should face upward before you stick the rubber pad. It will work as good as a new one.
