The paper rollers attract dust from the surrounding environment. Paper-dust [tiny paper particles from inferior quality sheets) and bits of sticky labels [if you do label printing) stick to the rollers.

Paper clips and staple pins can also get caught in between. This dirt hinders the free flow of the paper through the rollers, resulting in paper jams and other problems.

o Unplug the power cord from the product.

o Depending on the printer model, there are different ways to access the paper feed rollers. If your model has a rear access door, remove it to access the paper feed rollers. But if it does not have a rear access door, access the paper feed rollers from the paper tray in front. Removing

the paper tray may allow better access in some models. Some printers [especially the multifunctional models like those from HP) have a hatch below the scanner that opens upwards like an automobile bonnet. Refer to the printer manual for instructions on how to open the printer. o Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with clean, lukewarm water to wipe the paper rollers. Rotate the rollers gently with your fingers to clean the entire surface of the rollers. Turn the rollers upwards or downwards when accessing them from the back or the front, respectively. Close the access door when you're done.
