This one from Canon is an black and gray coloured printer that looks good. We can term it is as one of the smallest printer in the test in the league of HP. However, when the paper output tray on the top is opened, the printer seems tall. We did not like Canon's idea of including a full printer breadth paper output tray. The build quality of the printer is good and the printer is sturdy. The LBP2900B features one LED light that lights up when it is powered on. Much like the other printers in this test, this one also uses USB connection. The printer is capable of printing at 600x600dpi resolution and up to 2400x600 dpi using the automatic image refinement technology.

The front input paper tray is capable of holding 150 sheets at a time. This number should be sufficient for any home user or a small office. There's also a manual tray that accepts single sheets at a time, in case you need to print on special stationery. The paper tray, does not feature a cover, hence the papers might get dusty if kept for a longer period. On test, the LBP 2900B required no warm up time and delivered good clear text -and that too noiselessly. The first page was out in no time. The printing speed was pretty decent and was close to Canon's claim of 12 pages per minute. The Canon LBP2900B is a good choice for people looking for a performance printer, as the first page output is pretty fast. The price of the printer is Rs. 5,995 and comes with a two year warranty.
