    Default AMD Athlon 64 3800 +

Hello good, I'm new to this forum I would like to help me, well this is my problem:

    I have an AMD Athlon 64 3800 + (2400mhz)
    gigabyte motherboard ga-s2-ma69vm
    OEM power supply 480u
well my problem is I want to overclock up to 3GHz, but the bios will not let me raise the fsb over 234mhz that the maximum speed is 2809mhz and I have achieved that frequency is unstable and the computer restarts each 2x3. The multiplier is set to AUTO (12x) and just let me manual at most 11.5 x.

    Need someone please help me.

It is worth the week that well I'm going to buy a gigabyte geforce 8500gt 512MB.

Will the performance of my pc?

    Thank you very much!

    Good causes problem.

    a) Maybe you are playing against the multiplier Hyper Transport (HT, LDT .. or as you call bios... default guess is at 5X, which gives you a hyper transport of 1000Mhz (5 x 200) .. Then get a 235 FSB Hyper Transport will be raised to 5 x 235 = 1175 MHz... perhaps a lot for your motherboard, so you should download it at 4X in the bios so that theoretically let you upload the fsb to 250 (4 x 250 = 1000Mhz)

    b) If not this, you may need to increase the voltage of the cpu, upload a 0.15v usually is enough .. But no one is sure; some processors require more and others less…

    c) you have to manually RAM to a lower speed before going up the FSB, the ideal is that the watch 533 MHz (DDR 266 *)... to get a good range of increase along the FSB.

    d) That this will limit the integrated video, as it rises along with the speed of the chipset. (To be solved by adding a VGA port on the PCI-E)

Clearly notice a big difference with the 8500GT, but ideally you would recommend to go for a 8600GT 256MB... do not be fooled by the 512mb of VRAM, hardly a card with a 128bit memory interface actually going to use 256mb of VRAM. Lack of bandwidth and processing power. .. if you can not go for the 8600GT, it is preferable to locate the 8500GT 256MB, so you save money, because in reality it will not have 512mb tangible benefit at that level of cards

Thank you very much to see if I get to 3GHz by the q set as my ram is ddr800 and ddr667 which is working on bringing it to 300MHz but ddr800 comes to 466mhz.

I'm a mess I do not know if the graphic or buy a amd athlon x2 2.3 GHz.
