Thread: How to Install the processor

1 Open the socket, insert the processor so the arrow on one corner matches the one on the socket, then close the socket by lowering the cover, if present, and lever.

2 Apply a pea-sized drop of thermal paste to the top of the processor and spread it evenly across the metal surface.

3 Place the heatsink on top of the processor so it makes good contact with the top ofthe chip, then secure it in place. Attach the cooler's fan to the relevant pins on the motherboard.
