While the taskbar in Window 7 has undergone a major change, not everyone is happy with the large size. For some, it might seem like a waste of vertical desktop space. The older and more compact taskbar from Vista can be enabled in a few clicks. Right-click on the taskbar and click Properties. Deselect the Use small icons checkbox to get a more compact taskbar. Click OK.
