The surprising color effect is not an erroneous setting in the program, but is because of insufficient color depth of the system. To correct this, change the Windows setting. Right-click on a free spot on the desktop in XP and select the context command 'Properties'. Then activate the 'Settings' tab. In the combination field 'Color quality' change the value to 'Highest (32 Bit)'.
Confirm the change with 'Accept' and 'OK', Then you must confirm the changed system settings once again. The change is immediately effective, even on a playing iTunes window. Right-click on a free spot on the desktop and then in the context command select 'Customize'.
In the following dialog, click on the link 'Display' and change the 'Color depth' in the same manner.
