BY default, any document in MS Word is displayed in the 'Print View'. Chances are you may be distracted because of the excessive gutter space, margin values, and the text styles or any other such reasons. You can use the 'Outline View' as a better alternative to adjust and edit your document without these distractions. Reading the document in the outline view enables you to turnoff formatting features completely. When you turn-off this feature of your document, the formattin~ is not deleted but merely neutralized while viewing. To turn-off formatting in MS Word 2007, carry out the following steps:
Go to the 'View' tab.
Click the 'Outline' option appearing under the 'Document Views' group. Once in the outline view, click the 'Outlining' tab from the mail ribbon.
Uncheck the 'Show Text Formatting' option appearing under the 'Outline Tools' group of the tab. The formatting in your document is turned off.
To turn off formatting in MS Word 2003, carry out the following steps:
Go to the 'View | Outline' menu command.
Once in the outline view, the 'Outlining' tool bar appears.
Click the 'Show Formatting' button on the 'Outlining' toolbar.
Once the button is deactivated, the formatting in your document is turned off.
