CHARTS are an excellent way to explain your data in a graphically concise manner. Charts help you to clarify your data without too much explanation. But if you have gaps in your data, Excel finds it difficult to interpret such empty cells. The missing data may have to be ignored completely or may need to be treated as zero. You can specify how the data needs to be treated. To do so, carry out the: following steps:
Create the required chart. Select the chart object.
An additional section called 'Chart Took' appears on the ribbon once the chart is selected.
From the 'Chart Tools' section, click the 'Design' sub-tab.
Click the 'Select Data' option, appearing under the 'Data' group. Click the 'Hidden and Empty Cells' button from the 'Select Data Source' dialog box.
Select the 'Zero' option in the 'Hidden and Empty Cells' dialog box.
Click 'OK' on all the open dialog boxes to save the settings.
