Thread: the better PC2100 OR PC2700

Which is the better PC2100 OR PC2700?

I am using the Asus Pentium 4 2.26GHz 533MHz, 256MB Radon HDD graphic card, 256GB HDD and Windows XP. And as well FSB speed is 135 MHz, I am confused if I put PC2700 RAM in and if this particular system would it run at 166MHz FSB, also thinking of PC2100. Now I am confused between both of them. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

1) According to me, the PC2700 is well-suited for you. But would state that the thing is when you use a higher speed of memory when you have been already running a lower speed of memory all of the memory will run at the lowest memory speed. So, would recommend you to use only same RAM speed memory. Expect you will be able to select the proper RAM and run your system at maximum speed.

2) My suggestion likely to for PC2100, but mainly or accurate selection I would tell, but it totally depends on your motherboard and CPU, as I told PC2100 may be sufficient or can be that PC2700 may be more popular.

My statistics of the both RAM is as follows:
PC2100 RAM: 2.13 GB/sec Bandwidth with 266MHz
PC2700 RAM: 2.67 GB/sec Bandwidth with333MHz
in all I would advise you to purchase PC2100, it outstanding and most excellent performance.

3) I think the performance of PC2700 would be a much better and best deal. And if you require extra memory, after that also it is good to have large amounts of slower memory than speedy memory that's not sufficient. Also want tell you that if you do video editing, Photoshop work or using 3d applications then use PC2100, or else go with the PC2700. Hope your problem will be solved very soon.
