    1) Disk fragmentation slow down performance of system. This is Windows utility tool which combines fragmented files and folders on hard disk that is why each occupies a single space on hard disk.

Continue running Disk Defragmenter at usual intervals like monthly, there are also other times when you must run it too, like when:

    • Adding large number of files.

    • Systems free hard disk space totals 15 percent or less.

    • Installed new application or new version of Windows

    2) You want to maintain system by deleting temporary files that are installed. So check out for same by running disk cleanup wizard. This deletes temporary internet files with programs that are of no use. This helps you to speed up process.
