Windows 95, like other OS, comes with integral commands for making bootable floppy disks. Formatting program is depends on MS-DOS, shell application running behind scenes of Windows 95. After you made bootable Windows 95 disk, utilize it to start PC from floppy drive rather than hard drive. To create Windows 95 disk bootable, you do not require an outside or third-party application only need is blank floppy disk.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to "Start," then "Shutdown."
Step 2
Click on circle adjacent to "Restart the computer in MS-DOS mode?"
Step 3
Click "Yes." PC will reboot now you are in "C:\" prompt.
Step 4
Put in blank 3.5 or 5.25 inch floppy disk into floppy drive.
Step 5
Type "cd\windows\command" hit "Enter" or "Return" key.
Step 6
Type "FORMAT A:/S." Hit "Enter" or "Return" key.
Floppy disk will format with copy of OS required to boot PC located on disk.
Step 7
Enter label for floppy disk when prompted with "Volume Label." Push "Enter" or "Return" key.
Step 8
Type "N" when prompted with "Format another?" Push "Enter" or "Return" key.
Step 9
Write "Windows 95 Bootable Disk" or alike wording on disk label. Put label on disk. Place disk in protected place.
