Data Acquisition Programming in C + + / V

Hello everyone,

I have an internship to make a small program that reads and stores the values sent by an accelerometer via USB. The language may be C + + or VB. I has MVstudio2008 and in fact I do not know where to start ... especially my problem is I do not see how I can link my C + + program and my measurement software which contains the C + + libraries, I know what it is elsewhere ...

Thank you for your help, at least in the approach to adopt.
