Thread: Data report or Crystal report

I am working on one project where I use visual basic programming language. For this project I want to design report. I have two options one is “Data Report” and other is “Crystal Report” .I am confused between them. Anybody knows which is better for me.plase give some hint. Thanks in advanced.

I recommend you to use the Crystal report. Following are the benefits of using the Crystal report:

1. you can programmatically capable to convert the reports in the different format like XLS, PDF, HTML, DOC, as well in the RTF format.
2. You can design several sub folders with the help of the Crystal report.
3. The overall look n feel of the Crystal report is better than the Data report.
4. Crystal report used to depiction an object model, and it also used to relate with ASP.NET controls on the Web form.

Crystal Reports is a great tool, but frankly it's too complex and needs lots of programming. As an option I use a new software program called Stonefield Query. Fast, easy, and makes professional looking reports in a fraction of the time.
