when i write code and then compile it and correct it gets no errors. It opens up in the command prompt then when i run the program through its paces when it finishes the program it automatic shuts down the command prompt.

This occurs when you on Internet Explorer and open like more tabs. I experience it is most possible Operating System.
Attempt to copying the all code, close c++, re open c++, create new file, paste code, compile, run. i believe i acquired that a some times in programming class.
you defrag your Hard drive, remove back-up and restore files and clear every things in the Temp Files, Cookie and stuff like that folders. as there may be corrupt files leaving around having this.
