Default Computer does not read RAM accurately

I have a latest P4 PC and there are two RAM being installed in system one is 256 and other is 512 MB memory but when I checked in my computers properties it was showing only 320 MB of RAM as it should show me 768 MB of RAM being installed how to get the full size of RAM installed in my machine?

As I would like to assist you that click on your Start button and click on the Run option from the menu and type Dxdiag and you will get your whole system information and still its showing the same thing then open your cabinet and check your RAM one by one and check it in the properties if you are getting the full size of the RAM being installed and if not then the RAM is being defective or else go through the motherboard manual if the motherboard can support the combination of the RAM.
