MetaRAM is one of those innovations that are either hit or miss. Either it will develop the way we utilize RAM, or it will not get its way into more than some PCs.

The main point to this technology is that it will be hundred percent compatible with any motherboard that runs DDR2, no matter what memory controller or chipset it utilizes. DDR3 is around corner, so where does this leave MetaRAM and its DDR2 memory?

Using techniques they do for making RAM well-suited must make a move to DDR3 very easy. MetaRAM isn't for everybody; unless you are running a quite big network with some heavy duty servers, you can skip over this technology and pick up some additional sticks of memory. Some users want 20+ GB RAM in a PC now, or in the next few years.

MetaRAM has some prospective to sell, but limited market will keep this from being something that actually makes market onto places like newegg. There are few investors and backers of this technology, so look for something to confirm about this.
