Thread: How to format an external HDD

My HD is infected by virus because of this my HD not work well. That’s why I decided to format my HD. but I am not able to format my Hard Disk. I want to format my Hard Disk. Please tell me how to do that??Any idea would be highly appreciated.

To format HDD follow the given steps

• Right click on My Computer and after that click "manage".

• Then a window appears and you will come out in> Storage> Disk Management.

• And right click on your hard drive and then format.

Format external drive using DOS

1) Open a command window by going to Start, then Run and typing in cmd

2) Then type the following command
Format /FS:FAT32 X:

3) Change the letter X with the letter of your external HDD in Windows. Windows will proceed and start formatting the drive in FAT32!
