Default My PC only Reading One RAM Slot at a moment

    Hello,
I decided to improve my RAM and buy a novel stick on novel. Though, when installed on my PC with my old stick of RAM, my PC would not read it. I tried installing the ram by itself and my PC read it fine. I tried both slots individually and they both work, just not together. As far as I know both RAM sticks are 1 GB DDR2 533MHz. I am thinking it is a difficulty with the settings on the motherboard or compatibility matter with the ram.

I forever tell public you should never use an old stick and a novel stick together. You should always buy the full amount of ram your wanting for the system. I haven’t seen allot of systems that don’t have confliction issues using old stock ram and new ram. Sorry but I would have to say it would be best to purchase one more stick of the same ram you just bought and go with that.
