Thread: Dead CMOS battery

After few days of vacation when i start my computer but it no longer boots up. I take out the power cord and restarted but now I didn't get any bios post. I checked the CMOS battery and also tried to reset the CMOS jumper but nothing happen. Could this be because of dead CMOS battery? If you are having any solution for that, then please provide that solution to me. I will be thankful to you.

This is somewhat normal for a PC which is running since years. Though if this is on a new motherboard, then it is an indication of a fault. Whatever possibly the case, the only solution is changing the battery. If you are receiving any error messages also then try restarting the computer and see if the message comes once gain.

Simplest methods to find out if it is then change the CMOS battery. If that works then its good but if it doesn't then you should contact to your computer engineer.
