    Default Adding RAM

Which is faster, a 256 SDRAM stick, followed by a 128 SDRAM stick or the 256 SDRAM alone? My friend told me with both sticks not being the same size (although the larger one is first installed) it will actually slow down the computer. Any other information related to the topic would be good.

As per I know it depends on the speed of the SDRAM like in PC100 or PC133. I have always been told to place the faster RAM in the first slot and after that the slower RAM. This supposedly stops a bottle neck when the RAM is accessed. While using unmatched RAM is not always a good thing it certainly is used by a lot of folks.
