Thread: How can i measure the frequency of my ram

Friends, I have given order for 2GB RAM which is of 800 MHz. I have read on many threads where users have spoken something about the timings. For example 4-4-4-12 etc. Can you suggest me that what that means exactly. What is the better timing for RAM and how can I measure that? Please suggest.

If you want to know that how much RAM you have then you can just right click on my computer icon and choose properties. As you select that then appears the property window. Now if you want to see the working of the RAM then you can right click on the task bar and choose 'Task Manager' and choose 'Performance' tabpage.

I feel you should use Windows Memory Diagnostic. This is free software from Microsoft and you can download it very easily. It will examine the Random Access Memory of the PC. If you have any problem during running with windows then you can use this to check that whether it is because of few hardware problems or what. This will be the best to measure the RAM speed.
