With current date jan 2012 the memory prices are still in the basement, as low as never before, this fall you have to use and good upgrade, then expensive memory, who would have never been 8GB or more of its system, the ideal time would be now. We too have been looking for a suitable kit and came across theGeIL EVO Corsa DIMM 8GB PC3-17066U CL9 with-10-9-28, the current price for the 8GB kit is just some rupess, an absolute dream price.

Our last purchase was an Intel Core i7 2600K, which is in an ASUS Deluxe board P8Z67, in general, we were always looking fast 1600 MHz memory with low latency, because these were most of the price / performance of most interest. But the attraction for more power has always been present specifically, the Z68 boards love the clock of 2,166 MHz, which still brings a touch more power than 1333 or 1600 MHz memory therefore, the choice fell on the chosen kit from GeIL.

The kit consists of 2x4 GB, who have come in this package to send to us, the memory running at 2133 MHz and latency of 9-10-9-28-2T, these come out at 1.65 volts, which is necessary for this high cycle and low latencies anyway.

These colorful storage cooler since we only know the Corsa EVO series, GeIL has hitherto always uses high, angular cooler, such as in the Enhance series, the coolers are directly bonded with an adhesive-film double the RAM and can not, or are difficult to remove. Schedule of the amount must be around 45 mm for the whole store, thus one must expect that they will not fit under many CPU coolers, if the full complement on board chooses.

The detailed specifications can be found on the labels, more accurate values can be found using tools such as CPU-Z is out, the storage tanks have a very good XMPP programming, the maximum clock is at 2133MHz and latency of 9-10-9-28-2T, lower clock rates can of course also be used with lower timings.

With the current Z68 and P67 boards will hardly be a problem, because they support all of these models with more than 2100 MHz RAM, we have tried several boards from different manufacturers, on all the boards and Asus P8P67 ASRock P67 Extreme4 we had no problems. You have to set the memory manually or via XMPP as I said, depending on the width of the cooler there are problems with the full configuration of the RAM banks, but this is now standard, since most manufacturers use this amount of memory coolers.
