Default HD 6950 and hdtv queries

    Hello,
Punched in my HDTV through hdmi into my 6950 and directly into the card's voltage rise from 0.9v to 1.0v and temps rocketed from 40c to 60c while Idle? Is this a software bug?
    Thanks!

    hi,
The thing that i don't like regarding ATI cards, multi monitor setup and HD playback seem to increase clocks therefore higher temps and power usage. I like my card but because of this I'm planning to change to GTX580. Any suggestion?

As explained the rising voltage and temperatures is because of the increased clocks when running a multi-monitor setup. It's a annoys but it's not much you can perform about it, store possibly force a lower-clocked profile.
