You do not have to create new documents in SkyDrive. You can upload up to 5 from your computer (click on the option of adding documents to the folder of your choice). You can also use the "drag", but only with IE8. Alternatively, choose your documents from your computer to open a dialog file (or select the option to upload standard).

Add a folder of files is impossible. However, you can create folders and upload files. However, this option is not nearly as intuitive as the document library in SharePoint. The professional versions of Office Web Apps using SharePoint, we can expect the tools to transfer files are more efficient.
