The PowerPoint ribbon also seems rudimentary, but when you start creating new slides you will find interesting options. You can add a new slide or import if you already have. If you're about to make a presentation and want to shorten it, you can hide some slides rather than delete them. You can not change the design or add a graphic (or even modify an existing one), but if the master slide that you choose to add content; you can insert an image (from your computer, not a web page) or create a SmartArt diagram.
